The thing that initially struck me about this photo was the black point shift to a slight blueish tinge, which is honestly what stopped me from passing it by. From there, I was intrigued by the lighting, which accentuated the models muscular physique. Finally, I noticed the position the model was in, and how unstable in way, given that her only support isn't directly under her centre of mass, and she appeared to be unstable.

Coupling these things together, it really struck me as an image full of negative emotions related to loss. More specifically, her mussed hair, expression of longing, and the space to her left that would hypothetically have fit another person almost perfectly, all lead to the feeling of angry and sorrowful loss.

The hard light accentuates this feeling, as it not only casts hard shadows, and accents the models taught figure, but also manages to leave a large dark space beside her, leading one to believe that she is missing an integral part of herself, and will have to repair the hole that was brutally ripped upon it's vehement exit.

All in all, this is an excellent image, and as I wrote this critique, I realized more and more how much I adore it.

Excellent work, I admire it deeply.
