It is hard to image that a setting of brick and hardwoods could radiate an overwhelming softness and sense of tranquility, yet this photo does just that. Great natural lighting is obviously key to this success. It radiates into the scene from above as if coming straight from heaven; encapsulating Melissa Ann like the angel that she is. I get an overwhelming feeling from this image that she is just that, an angel from heaven, sitting in silence and with a complete inner-peace; God's light shining down upon her exquisite form, that was no doubt sculpted by her creator with extreme care and precision. A piece of art within a piece of art.
The first thing I noticed about this image was its duality. It's stuck somewhere between a photo and a painting. I love it. The second thing I notice was the quality that it packs in every aspect.
The pose manages to be timid and reserved, while the model manages to be striking and beautiful. Almost as if she's looking at her inner calm, and it's as beautiful as her physical self.
The lighting is great, with the central column and shadows that add to the overall duality I mentioned above.
I'm not sure if intentional, but the bare skin and bare soul of the model matches the bare wall and bare floor of the scene perfectly.
I think the composition is incredible, much like the subject.
When I "clicked" on the photo, I thought I was seeing a live shot! What mad skills you (Felix) have! What a lovely subject you (melannc) are! Many thanks to you both.

Well done.
