This shot, in its simple and rather unspectacular way, managed to strike me due to its warm and quiet beauty. Personally, I find it heart to convey the feeling of cozy warmth and positivity (for lack of better term) with a b/w shot as I tend to conceive the lack colors as melancholia. This piece of art, however, suggests nothing of bleakness or sadness at all. The facial expression of the (gorgeous) model gives just the ghost of a smile, a hint of seduction - but nothing more. It is hard to tell whether she is smiling or not. But she is definitely not sad. The translucent curtain combined with the girl's complete nudity suggests both frailty and mystery. She is looking back over her shoulder, clearly waiting for something - or someone. But exactly what, of course, remains uncertain and veiled. Furthermore, I love the modest composition and the soft lighting.
I think in its conceptual plainness this picture reveals a wonderful artistic complexity.
